Gintra of Šiauliai extended their remarkable collection of Lithuanian Women's A League titles. In round 18, they won 5:0 (2–0 at half-time) against TransINVEST of Vilnius district, securing the 24th championship in club history and 21st in succession.

The victory made Gintra mathematically uncatchable with two rounds remaining.

Team leader L. Spenazzatto added two more goals and remains the A League's leading scorer with 15.

Gintra also continue in the second UEFA Europa Cup qualifying round. Steve Beeks's side won the first leg against Danish runners-up FC Nordsjælland of Farum 1–0 in Šiauliai, with the return in Denmark next Wednesday, 15 October.

The hosts made a strong start to the title-deciding match, with only the post denying them in the second minute. They pressed from the outset and created chance after chance, but the visiting goalkeeper and woodwork kept them out.

The sustained pressure finally produced a goal when Madison Bowers escaped the defence and finished accurately for 1–0.

Gintra remained in complete control. Although Meida Proscevičiūtė, Lidiane Ribeiro and Tamara Brown missed chances, Laura Spenazzatto scored one of the season's finest goals near half-time. The Brazilian curled her corner straight into the net to double the hosts' lead: 2–0.

Justina Blaževičiūtė came on immediately after the break and tore through the defence with a solo run before assisting M. Bowers, who completed her brace for 3–0.

The goals kept flowing at Šiauliai's stadium. A few minutes later, J. Blaževičiūtė again cut through the defence to score, while L. Spenazzatto added her second: 5–0.
