Gintra of Šiauliai have extended their partnership with one of Lithuania's most talented players of her generation, Justina Blaževičiūtė. The 16-year-old wide midfielder will continue with the champions. Her progress has been recognised nationally, and she is already being called up to Lithuania's senior women's team.
She began in her hometown of Telšiai and later represented Džiugas, winning Women's First League silver. Her individual talent also earned recognition among Lithuania's best young players. Before Gintra, she represented MFA Žalgiris-MRU of Vilnius, and last season in Šiauliai was an important period of adaptation and development in a professional environment.
Club Director Mantas Radavičius welcomed her smooth first year: 'Justina adapted quickly to the environment, working tempo and demands. Both the club and new Head Coach see great potential, and we believe she will play an even more significant role this season.' He emphasised the club's consistent investment in young players.
The player is motivated to continue: 'I am grateful for the club's trust and the opportunity to keep growing here. Last year was important: I learned a lot, adapted to a higher standard and understood where to improve. This season I want to help the team even more and continue developing at the club and with Lithuania.'
Gintra consistently develop promising young footballers and give them opportunities in a professional organisation pursuing the highest goals.
The club has already announced Tereza Romanovskaja's extension and Head Coach Artūr Sikorskij's appointment. More news will follow.
Preparations for the new season begin on 12 January.
