Lithuanian women's champions Gintra of Šiauliai continue strengthening their squad, signing experienced and ambitious 28-year-old Ukrainian Khrystyna Pereviznyk. The attacking player joins from last season's silver medallists, TransINVEST of Vilnius district.
Able to play in midfield or attack, she will wear number 88, a personal talisman she chose without hesitation.
K. Pereviznyk began at 14 in a Ukrainian sports school and signed her first professional contract just two years later with decorated club Naftokhimik Kalush. She has played in Ukraine, Turkey and Lithuania.
Lithuanian supporters know her well: representing FK Vilnius in 2022, she was the Women's A League top scorer and best overseas player. She then joined Istanbul's Beşiktaş before returning to Lithuania with TransINVEST in 2024 and again becoming one of the league's leading scorers. Last season her 11 goals contributed significantly to the club's historic second-place finish.
Explaining her decision, she emphasised ambition: 'Because of how my career has developed, making my UEFA Women's Champions League debut is still a dream. I am burning to compete there, and Gintra have done so for years. Another major goal is to become Lithuanian champion. I always want to win and am hungry for victories. Being in a team with a champions' mentality matters to me. I am excited to join a side with the highest objectives.'
Although she has mainly played wide midfield, she increasingly fills the number-ten role: 'I enjoy attacking football, goals and assists. My experience and energy can help the team. I know Coach Artūr, who trusts me, and hope that will help me adapt quickly and reach my best form.'
Club Director Mantas Radavičius welcomed her proven quality: 'Khrystyna has repeatedly demonstrated her value in Lithuania. She is combative, disciplined and driven to win, capable of inspiring the team at important moments. We want reliable players experienced in high-level matches. We are delighted she can make her Champions League debut in Gintra's colours and believe her contribution will be important to future victories.'
The team began preparations for the new season this week.
