Gintra controlled the game from the opening moments, although their first goal did not arrive until the 30th minute. Brianna Taylor capitalised on careless defending to score her first goal for the yellow-and-blacks, making it 1–0. Before the break, the forward seized on another defensive mistake to double the lead.
Steve Beeks' side settled the outcome immediately after the restart. Laura Spenazzatto scored the team's third in the 47th minute, Taylor completed her hat-trick a few minutes later, and by the 57th minute the scoreboard showed an emphatic 5–0.
The team play again next Saturday, 16 August, at 18:00, hosting MFA Žalgiris-MRU in an important Women's A League match at Šiauliai Central Stadium.
The UEFA Women's Champions League qualifying tournament will be held in Šiauliai for the third year running. Gintra face Romanian champions FCV Farul in the second-round semi-final on 27 August. The Ukrainian and Georgian champions meet in the other semi-final that day.
The qualifying final for the sole place in the main UEFA Women's Champions League competition will take place on 30 August at Šiauliai City Stadium.
Failure to reach the group stage would not end Gintra's European season: finishing at least third in the qualifying tournament would allow them to continue in the UEFA Women's Europa Cup.
