In round three, the Lithuanian champions defended their home fortress with a win by 1:0 (0–0 at half-time), beating the Vilnius side and becoming sole leaders of the A League table.

Canadian striker Kiyani Johnson remained unavailable.

The teams wasted little time sizing each other up. Both played aggressively and sought control of possession. Gintra created their first dangerous situation in the 10th minute with a free kick near the penalty area, but the goalkeeper managed the danger and the score remained unchanged.

Striker Justina Blaževičiūtė was active in attack. Her run down the right could have created another clear chance, but her pass failed to reach Kristina Pereviznyk.

The clearest opportunity came after half an hour, when Laura Kubiliūtė's pass sent K. Pereviznyk clear of the defence. The Ukrainian fired over the crossbar.

A home corner near the end of the half could have produced the opener, but the Žalgiris goalkeeper saved Sabrina Amorim's header.

Gintra continued to dominate after the break but could not score. Lidiane Ribeiro could have put the champions ahead with a header from another set piece, but the goalkeeper saved.

The hosts were threatened in the 55th minute, when Alla Herasymchuk had to work hard to stop Žalgiris striker Olamide Adugbe's shot.

The breakthrough came in the 67th minute. J. Blaževičiūtė was in the right place and converted at the second attempt to put the hosts 1–0 ahead.

Neither team slowed after the goal, exchanging dangerous attacks. O. Adugbe fired over the bar, while a defender blocked K. Pereviznyk's attempt. Tension grew as time ran out, with the home supporters inspiring Gintra at key moments.

Gintra ultimately preserved their clean sheet, celebrated a third consecutive victory and established themselves at the top of the table.
