Gintra reached the final of Rome's international Caput Mundi 2024 tournament but, short of energy, lost to the England colleges representative team and took silver.
The Lithuanian champions 0:3 (0–1 at half-time) lost to the more physical English side, who won the tournament.
Gintra entered the final less than 24 hours after their last group match. Playing throughout with a Lithuanian core, they could not match their opponents physically, which determined the result.
Nevertheless, their achievement pleasantly surprised Lithuanian football supporters and disappointed hosts LND Lazio, whom Gintra had beaten and denied a place in the final.
