The second round of the 2026 Baltic League took place on Sunday in Pärnu's inflatable indoor arena in Estonia. After losing their opener, Gintra of Šiauliai bounced back to claim their first victory of the season.

The Lithuanian champions comfortably won 3:1 (1–0 at half-time) against Estonian runners-up Saku Sporting, who suffered their second defeat.

Justina Blaževičiūtė and Gabrielė Vasilenko were unavailable through injury, while captain Algimantė Mikutaitė had not yet joined the team. Defender Aivė Andriuškevičiūtė will also miss the entire season, with cruciate ligament surgery scheduled for early March.

Starting lineup:  A. Herasymchuk, T. Romanovskaja, G. Knutzen, A. Šveckutė (A. Kazarina), S. Amorim, L. Ribeiro (U. Bujokaitė), L. Kubiliūtė (A. Diachenko), M.Galkina, K. Pereviznyk, T. Brown (U. Grincevičiūtė), M. Proscevičiūtė (J. Dias).

Goals:

Gintra: T. Brown (31' min.), K. Pereviznyk (67' min.), A. Kazarina (86' min.) one each.

„Sporting“: K. Saulus (90' min. pen.) – 1.

Both teams began cautiously. The first threat to the home goal came in the 17th minute, when Brazilian Lidiane Ribeiro could not take her chance.

In the 25th minute, striker Kristina Pereviznyk missed a clear opportunity, going one-on-one with the goalkeeper but shooting just wide of the post.

The visitors finally broke through after half an hour. Following Kristina Pereviznyk's pass into the penalty area, Tamara Brown attempted a cross, but the deceptive delivery wrong-footed the goalkeeper and went into the net for 1–0.

Artūr Sikorskij's side increased their possession advantage in the second half and created chance after chance. Accuracy was often lacking, but in the 66th minute a pass from deep split the entire defence. This time K. Pereviznyk calmly finished one-on-one to double the visitors' lead: 2–0.

Near the end, Agnieška Kazarina scored her first goal since returning from a cruciate ligament injury, ending any remaining home hopes at 3–0.

Saku nevertheless scored a late consolation through Katriin Saulus's penalty: 3–1.

Seven Lithuanian Gintra players have been called up to the national women's team camp next week: Algimantė Mikutaitė, Tereza Romanovskaja, Athena Diachenko, Laura Kubiliūtė, Meida Proscevičiūtė, Justina Blaževičiūtė and Marija Galkina.

The Lithuanian Women's A League begins on 15 March.
