Gintra of Šiauliai continue preparations for 2026 and officially unveil another newcomer. Nineteen-year-old striker Ugnė Grincevičiūtė will wear the Lithuanian champions' number-14 shirt next season.
Although she began football relatively late, at 16, she has already gained considerable top-flight experience and made her youth international debut.
She started at MFA Žalgiris before moving on loan to Saned of Joniškis, making her Women's A League debut and scoring her first goals. In 2025 she represented TransINVEST and established herself in the A League. She now takes another important step by joining multiple champions Gintra, newly led by former TransINVEST Head Coach Artūr Sikorskij.
Another milestone was her Lithuania U19 debut in official UEFA qualifiers in 2025, giving her international experience.
'I was delighted to receive Gintra's offer because opportunities like this do not come often. I am ready to work hard, make the most of my abilities, improve my skills and gain experience here, contributing as much as possible to the team's victories,' U. Grincevičiūtė said.
She aims to improve her decision-making, technique and ability to manage the game's tempo, and to reach peak condition from the start. She also hopes to settle quickly into the dressing room, contribute to its atmosphere and pursue the highest domestic and international goals with Gintra.
Club Director Mantas Radavičius highlighted her potential and determination: 'Ugnė is motivated, disciplined and has progressed significantly in a short time. Her U19 call-ups show coaches recognise that progress. She makes brave decisions, takes initiative and is extremely combative. We believe she will flourish here, develop rapidly and become an important team member.'
U. Grincevičiūtė strengthens Gintra's balance of youth and experience and reaffirms the club's commitment to talented Lithuanian players ready for a higher level.
The team have already begun preparations for the coming season, with the first official Baltic League matches planned for February.
