Strengthening their youth system, multiple Lithuanian outdoor champions Gintra will enter the national women's futsal championship for the first time.
Opening a new chapter, the club join forces with Šiauliai Sports Gymnasium and compete as Gintra-ŠSG.
The team will be led by promising coach Dovydas Alaunė, an assistant at Gintra's first team and a member of Lithuania's senior women's national-team staff.
A youth-based squad supplemented by several experienced Gintra players will compete in the northwestern group against Banga Gargždai, Babrungas, Saned, FA Šiauliai and Mamukai.
"I'm pleased with the players' attitude and training work. Everyone shows effort and a desire to improve, which matters most. I hope this championship gives valuable experience to help us grow as a team," Alaunė said.
The futsal championship begins on 16 December this year. Gintra-ŠSG open away to Babrungas.
