The decisive Group 5 second-round UEFA Women's Champions League qualifying matches took place at Šiauliai Central Stadium on Saturday. Having beaten Romanian opposition in the semi-final, Gintra faced Ukrainian champions Vorskla Poltava in the final.

In a qualifying final featuring two converted penalties, the Lithuanian champions lost 0:2 (0–1 at half-time) to the Ukrainians, who continue in the UEFA Champions League.

The final began cautiously. Vorskla sought possession and dominance, but Gintra resisted and briefly took the initiative. Laura Spenazzatto's pass gave American Madison Bowers a chance to race a defender, but the visitors avoided serious danger.

L. Spenazzatto fired a powerful effort over the goal in the 15th minute. The Ukrainians responded moments later, before captain Algimantė Mikutaitė tried her luck from distance in another attack.

An unfortunate incident in the hosts' penalty area, following careless play from defender Idowu Kuku, resulted in a penalty converted by Viktoriia Radionova: 1–0.

Steve Beeks's side were not unsettled and prevented the opponents from dominating. Gintra took control and won several set pieces but could not convert them, going into the break narrowly behind.

After the restart, Spenazzatto's 54th-minute free kick hit the woodwork. Moments later, however, another penalty was awarded against Gintra, and Vorskla captain Yana Kalinina converted for 2–0.

In the 78th minute, defender Maryna Shaynyuk received a second yellow card and was sent off, giving Gintra a numerical advantage.

Despite every effort to score and fully restore the contest, Gintra could not break through and had to accept defeat.
