The Baltic women's football competition, featuring the strongest Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian teams, will soon begin its 2024 season, the Lithuanian Football Federation reports.
As last year, six teams will contest the Baltic Women's Football League. Latvia's Liepaja FS and Riga SFK Rīga open proceedings on 4 February.
Estonia's Flora Tallinn and Saku Sporting also participate, while Gintra and Vilnius MFA Žalgiris-MRU represent Lithuania.
Under the approved format, teams first play each other once. Semi-finals and the fifth-place match are scheduled for 11 June. The third-place match and final take place on 17 August.
The BWFL provides international experience and preparation for Champions League qualifying. Gintra defend the title, having won the trophy eight times.
Matches hosted in Lithuania are planned to be streamed on the futbolas.tv platform.
The full schedule will be published shortly on the lietuvosfutbolas.lt website.
