The second leg of the first UEFA Women's Europa Cup qualifying round between Gintra of Šiauliai and SK Sturm Graz took place at Šiauliai Central Stadium on Wednesday.

In a high-scoring, fluctuating game in front of their supporters, the Lithuanian champions lost 3:5 (3–4 at half-time) to the Austrians, ending their European campaign.

The first meeting in Graz had ended in a 2–1 win for the Austrian side.

Starting lineup:  A. Herasymchuk, M. Yancey, S. Amorim, A. Mikutaitė (M. Proscevičiūtė 67'), L. Kubiliūtė, M. Galkina, T. Brown, L. Ribeiro, J. Blaževičiūtė (J. Dias 67'), K. Pereviznyk, E. Mideva.

Gintra: K. Pereviznyk (7', 15'), two; E. Mideva (8'), one.

Sturm Graz: L. B. Pulins (3', 45+2', 53' pen.), three; L. Sipos (27') and M. Yancey (33' own goal), one each.

Injured midfielder Anni Hakasalo and defender Gracie Knutzen were unavailable for Gintra.

The match began with a flurry of goals. The visitors struck first when Brigita Pulins capitalised on confusion in the penalty area following a corner to make it 0–1.

Gintra were not discouraged. Three minutes later, striker Kristina Pereviznyk equalised, and moments after that Elizabeth Mideva put the yellow and blacks ahead: 2–1.

As rain swept across the pitch, the fired-up Lithuanian champions continued their own shower of goals. In the 15th minute, K. Pereviznyk beat the goalkeeper with another precise finish for 3–1.

Midway through the half, the Austrians reduced the deficit and restored parity on aggregate when Lilla Sipos went one-on-one with Alla Herasymchuk and finished for 3–2.

After that goal, the visitors took the initiative. Before half-time, Makeila Yancey's unfortunate own goal levelled the match, before the Austrians moved ahead in first-half stoppage time: 3–4.

After the break, Sturm won a penalty, which B. Pulins converted to make it 3–5.

Gintra could not recover from that goal and had to concede defeat to opponents who progressed to the second qualifying round.

The team next play on 9 September, when Gintra host Banga of Gargždai in the A League.
