Lithuania's best young female footballer of 2023, Agnieška Kazarina, will represent champions Gintra. She spent the last three seasons at FK Vilnius.

The 17-year-old from Vilnius moves to Šiauliai, continuing her education at the Sports Gymnasium while developing her potential with the multiple champions.

Despite her youth, the talented midfielder and forward has already reached Lithuania's senior national team after being a leading player at every youth level.

Kazarina was named the country's best young female player at Monday's Lithuanian Football Federation awards.

"We're delighted one of Lithuania's brightest prospects has joined. We believe the knowledge and experience of our coaches and senior players will inspire Agnieška to fulfil her potential here," said director Mantas Radavičius.

Kazarina welcomed the champions' interest and felt the move to Šiauliai had come at the right time.

"I want to improve, reach another level and achieve top results collectively and individually. Gintra's invitation felt like my chance. I've adapted well: the welcome was warm, and I know many teammates through national teams. School is going well too; I've met teachers and classmates and made friends. I'm happy here and can't wait for the season," said the new number 16.
