Gintra welcome another signing: goalkeeper Gabrielė Vasilenko will wear number 1 for the Lithuanian champions. She finished last season at Women's A League club Saned Joniškis.
The 18-year-old from Vilnius replaces departing Aušrinė Bikutė and forms a partnership with Aušra Klevečkaitė. They know each other well, having previously played together for FK Vilnius for several years.
G. Vasilenko kartu su kitomis gintrietėmis yra Lietuvos U-19 merginų rinktinės narė. Vartininkė atvykusi į Šiaulius and prisijungusi prie „Gintros“ komandos treniruočių pripažino, kad ją intrigavo čempionių ekipos pasiūlymas and galimybė augti kaip žaidėjai.
"Above all, it's a personal challenge. I want to learn, improve and be part of a winning team. Last season I moved from Vilnius to Joniškis for more playing time. I believe Gintra will offer quality development and opportunities that I'll try to make the most of," said the determined newcomer.
