Defending Lithuanian and Baltic champions Gintra welcome another signing before the opener: striker Juliet Sunday, 25, who will wear number 18.

She has joined training and prepares for Sunday's debut. Like namesake and fellow newcomer Abigail Sunday, the Nigerian played for Kazakhstan's Tomiris-Turan last season.

Both participated in Champions League qualifying, where defeats to Manchester City and Sturm Graz ended their team's campaign.

"We share a surname but come from different cities, didn't know each other and aren't related, unless there's something we don't know; we'll have to ask our parents," Juliet joked before her introduction.

Previously, she became Nigerian champion with Bayelsa Queens and played in the CAF Champions League. A former Nigerian youth international, she still hopes to reach the senior team.

"Nigeria are strong, with many players and fierce competition. It's hard to make the squad, but improving in Europe may attract the coaches' attention. Now I want to focus on this club's goals and work hard to contribute effectively," she said.
