After opening the 2026 Women's A League season with a win the previous weekend, Gintra of Šiauliai extended their winning run in round two.
At home, the Lithuanian champions won 2:0 (1–0 at half-time) against last season's silver medallists, TransINVEST of Vilnius district, to record their second victory.
Canadians Tamara Brown and Kiyani Johnson, along with Athena Diachenko, were unavailable through injury.
Zambia international striker Misozi Zulu, who had joined during the week, made her debut in yellow and black, coming on in the 74th minute.

The hosts started more actively at Gytariai Stadium and enjoyed more possession. In the 10th minute, Justina Blaževičiūtė broke dangerously towards the goalkeeper, but the ball fell favourably for the visitors and the danger passed.
Home supporters did not have to wait long for the opener. In the 19th minute, Kristina Pereviznyk controlled Sabrina Amorim's excellent pass from deep, went one-on-one with the goalkeeper and scored against her former team – 1:0.
Gintra maintained their advantage in quality for the rest of the half, but neither Justina Blaževičiūtė nor Lidiane Ribeiro could convert their opportunities. The score remained unchanged after 45 minutes.
The yellow and blacks continued to create chances after the break, but Vilnius goalkeeper Margarita Panova saved one effort after another.
J. Blaževičiūtė finally broke through in the 71st minute, finishing Tereza Romanovskaja's cross powerfully from close range to double the hosts' lead: 2–0.
Gintra are at home again next weekend. On Saturday, 28 March, at 17:00, they host MFA Žalgiris-MRU of Vilnius.
