Gintra enjoyed a clear territorial and playing advantage in the first half but could not score despite their efforts, leaving the contest to be decided after the break.
Soon after half-time, they achieved what had looked likely throughout the opening 45 minutes. In the 53rd minute, J. Blaževičiūtė made a deep run down the right, received an excellent pass, went one-on-one with the goalkeeper and finished confidently to put the Šiauliai side 1–0 ahead.

The atmosphere grew heated, but Gintra kept their emotions in check and retained firm control of the match.
As the game approached its end, the hosts mounted a final assault and created two very dangerous chances. G. Vasilenko produced an excellent reflex save to deny one, while Olamide Adugbe's other effort struck the crossbar.
The hosts nevertheless rescued a point in stoppage time. O. Adugbe won a penalty and then converted it herself to make it 1–1.
There was no time left for either team to change the outcome after the equaliser, and the match ended level.
